On July 9, AppCraft is celebrating a major milestone in its history: its 10th anniversary. Since its founding, the company has been supporting event organizers with a digital platform designed to streamline planning, enhance the attendee experience, and address the new challenges facing the events industry. Here’s a look back at an entrepreneurial journey driven by innovation, trust, and a forward-looking vision.
When AppCraft was founded ten years ago, the events industry was already undergoing a major transformation. Companies were organizing more and more seminars, conventions, trade shows, and conferences, but the tools they used were often fragmented. Organizers were juggling multiple software programs, Excel files, email campaigns, third-party apps, and paper documents. This proliferation of tools complicated the work of event teams and sometimes detracted from the participants’ experience.
It was against this backdrop that Laurent Bel, Grégory Potdevin, and Stéphanie Staderoli decided to found AppCraft. Their strength lies not only in their complementary skills but also in the trust they have built over several years of collaboration. Laurent brings his market insight and experience in software publishing; Grégory designs a technical architecture capable of sustainable growth; and Stéphanie ensures that every project becomes a seamless experience for clients.
Their goal is simple: to offer a one-stop platform that supports event organizers before, during, and after their events. Ten years later, this vision remains the company’s guiding principle.
Since its inception, AppCraft has grown in step with its customers' needs. Each new feature stems from feedback from the field, a challenge encountered during a project, or a new expectation from event organizers.
Over the years, the platform has been enhanced with numerous modules: event websites, registration, mobile apps, customized programs, networking, notifications, check-in, badges, social walls, polls, quizzes, and reporting. Rather than simply piling on features, AppCraft has always prioritized a cohesive approach in which each module integrates naturally into the participant’s experience.
Thanks to this ongoing evolution, we are now able to support a wide variety of events, ranging from an internal seminar with a few dozen participants to an international conference or a trade show attracting several thousand visitors.
A successful event is not just about good organization. It also depends on the participants' experience.
For the past ten years, AppCraft has been developing tools designed to simplify every interaction: receiving a clear invitation, registering easily, finding your schedule, connecting with other participants, asking questions during a conference, or receiving real-time information.
This approach places the participant at the center of the digital experience. The goal is not simply to provide high-performance technology, but to create a seamless, intuitive, and engaging experience, regardless of the event format.
This philosophy has enabled AppCraft to support companies, agencies, institutions, and organizations at several thousand events in France and around the world.
Innovation is valuable only if it is part of a sustainable approach. That is why AppCraft has gradually structured its development around strong commitments to quality, security, and responsibility.
The attainment of ISO 20121 and ISO 27001 certifications demonstrates this commitment to supporting event organizers with solutions that meet the highest standards. These certifications ensure both responsible management of event activities and a high level of data security.
Beyond certifications, this approach translates into day-to-day efforts to develop solutions that reduce paper usage, centralize information, streamline processes, and make the work of the organizing teams easier.
To mark its tenth anniversary, AppCraft is opening a new chapter in its history with wAIv.events. This new solution uses artificial intelligence to automate part of the event creation process.
Based on a simple brief, it becomes possible to generate an initial framework that includes an event website, registration forms, emails, content, and a participant journey. This development does not replace the organizers’ expertise; rather, it allows them to save valuable time on the most repetitive tasks.
Just as it was ten years ago, the goal remains the same: to put technology at the service of people. By automating production, teams can devote more time to creativity, collaboration, and the participant experience.
